Dixie Transport Company operated in McCreary County, Kentucky starting in the late 1930s as a car towing service. After cutting back its operation during World War II (1941-45) the company came back into full operation from the mid to late 40s through the 1950s and 60s as a car hauler before ceasing its operations in McCreary County. The company continued operating in other areas, outside McCreary County, through the 1980s. In recent years, the drivers, families and friends of Dixie Transport have been meeting annually for a reunion.

Dear Dixie Transport Drivers & Friends:

Our annual reunion will be held in July 2012 at the Sandhill Camp upper shelter. Dinner will be served and memories shared! More information is coming soon...

We look forward to seeing everyone at this year’s reunion of the Dixie Transport Drivers.

Sincerely,

Dixie Transport Drivers Club
